PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Since the authorization of the Doctoral program in 2021, the Chemistry discipline in Shenzhen University formed a complete talent training system for undergraduate, master, and doctoral degrees.

As the first-tier discipline doctoral degree program, the Chemistry discipline has been forming the following (including but not limited to) four disciplines and research interests: analytical chemistry, polymeric chemistry and physics, inorganic chemistry, and physical chemistry. The proposed goal is to find a new mechanism of training creative talents of chemistry, to cultivate students with smart thoughts, professional quality, strong practical ability, and leadership in chemistry and relevant fundamental fields in the future.

何傳新,博導(dǎo),教授,副院長(zhǎng)。主要從事能源材料與化學(xué)領(lǐng)域的研究,包括鋰離子電池粘結(jié)劑、燃料電池催化劑、水分解制氫、二氧化碳電催化轉(zhuǎn)化等。發(fā)表SCI論文110余篇;近五年以第一/通訊作者發(fā)表SCI論文60余篇,影響因子大于10的論文31篇;作為主要發(fā)明人申請(qǐng)國(guó)家發(fā)明專(zhuān)利43項(xiàng),授權(quán)29項(xiàng)。2020年入選教育部“**學(xué)者獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)計(jì)劃”青年學(xué)者;2016年獲廣東省百千萬(wàn)工程青年拔尖人才;2015年獲得深圳市青年科技獎(jiǎng)。

Professor Chuanxin He is now the Assistant Dean of College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Shenzhen University. He received his PhD in polymer chemistry and physics from University of Science and Technology of China in 2010. He joined the Department of Chemistry at Shenzhen University in 2010, promoted to Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2019.His current research interesting is to design and synthesize novel nanostructure materials for fuel cells, water splitting and electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide. So far, he published more than 110 journal papers, including Nature CommunicationsJournal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and so on.

Dr. Xueji Zhang is Vice Chairman of the University Council, Shenzhen University, University distinguished Professor (highest rankin the School of Biomedical Engineering at Shenzhen University, P.R. China, President of Shenzhen Institute of Healthcare Security. He is also professor at Univ. of Sci. & Technol Beijing, and Executive President of National Institute of Precision Medicine & Health, Beijing. He received his BSc. and Ph.D. from Wuhan University in 1989 and 1994, respectively. His postdoctoral work was completed at National Institute of Chemistry, Slovenia, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich and New Mexico State University, Last Cruces, USA from 1995-1999. He was a research scientist, Sr. Scientist, Chief Scientist, Vice President and Sr. Vice President at World Precision Instruments, Inc. USA until 2010, when he joined USTB as National Chair Professor. His research interests span the disciplines of chemistry, biology, materials and medicine with an emphasis on studies of biosensing, biomedicine and biomaterials. His lab focuses on the development of intelligent sensors, wearable sensors, novel biosensors, tools and devices to study free radicals, cancer biomarkers, profiling changes in animal or human associated with diseases and exploiting this information for development of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. In addition, his group investigates drug delivery, new energy and natural medicines. He serves as the chief editor of RCS Sensors & Diagnostics, Am J of Biomed Sci and has been editorial member of 25 international journals. He has received numerous national and international awards and honors including Member European Academy of Sciences, Member of Russian Academy of Engineering, Fellow of American Institute for Medical & Bioengineering, Fellow of Royal Chemical Society, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Medal, Huawei Outstanding Contribution Medal, National Innovation Pioneer Award, China, Outstanding contribution Award of Chemical Sensors, China, Scientist of Year in China, Outstanding Engineer in China, and Simon Fellow of ICSC-World Lab. Prof. Xuechang Zhou received his BS in polymer chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2005, and MPhil and PhD degrees in chemistry from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007 and 2010, respectively. From 2010 to 2014, he worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He joined Shenzhen University in 2014. In 2019, he obtained financial support from the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars of China. Currently, he is a Distinguished Professor at Shenzhen University. His current research interests include tough hydrogels, flexible electronics, and surfaces and interfaces.  So far, he has achieved more than 100 high-quality research outputs in top-tier journals, such as Angew. Chem., Nat. Commun. etc. The total citation number of his papers is over 3500 with an H-index of 33.

Prof Yongxiang Gao obtained his PhD in Physics from McGill University. He has postdoctoral experiences in several world-class universities, including Oxford University. He was awarded Marie-Curie Fellow from the European commission, One-Hundred Youth Talent Scholar of Shaanxi Province, and Shenzhen Overseas High-Level Talent. His research focuses on soft matter, with a particular effort on developing advanced chemical methods for controlling the morphology and site-specific chemistry of colloids with high precision and using them as model systems to tackle challenging problems in the field of condensed matter physics, self-assembly, active matter, and micro/nanomotors. His group has published 35 articles in world-renowned journals, such as Physical Review Letters, Macromolecules, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Journal of Materials Chemistry A and Soft Matter. His research has received funding from Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong, Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and Natural Science Foundation of Shenzhen.

Professor Fan Liangdong received two doctoral degrees, one in Chemical Processing from Tianjin University in 2013 and another in Energy Technology from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden in 2014. He is currently a Distinguished Research Professor at Shenzhen University. His research focuses on key technologies in hydrogen and low-carbon energy conversion, with a particular interest on fundamental research and application development of high-temperature fuel cells and electrolyzers. He has led numerous projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Guangdong Provincial NSFC. To date, he has published over 70 SCI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author in journals such as Sci China Mater and Adv. Funct Mater, with over 7,000 citations and an H-index of 47. 陳宏寧教授與2010年在天津大學(xué)獲得過(guò)程裝備與控制工程&工商管理雙學(xué)士學(xué)位,2013年在西安交通大學(xué)獲得能源與動(dòng)力工程碩士學(xué)位,2017年在香港中文大學(xué)獲得機(jī)械及自動(dòng)化工程博士學(xué)位,并于畢業(yè)后做了一年博士后工作。目前,他是深圳大學(xué)新能源科學(xué)與工程系副教授。他的研究主要集中在新型電化學(xué)儲(chǔ)能系統(tǒng)和高能量密度電極材料的設(shè)計(jì)。他的工作包含了液流電池,鋰硫電池和半固態(tài)電池系統(tǒng)等。

He received his Mphil. degree in Energy & Power Engineering from the Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, in 2013 supervised by Prof. Jinjia Wei. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical & Automation Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2017 supervised by Prof. Yi-Chun Lu. After his graduate study, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Electrochemical Energy & Interfaces Laboratory in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering of Shenzhen University. His research interest focuses on developing novel electrochemical energy storage systems and designing high-energy-density electrode materials. His work includes redox flow batteries (RFBs), lithium-sulfur battery (Li-S) and semi-solid flow batteries (SSFBs) systems.

  謝楊蘇,博士,長(zhǎng)聘副教授,特聘研究員,博士生導(dǎo)師。畢業(yè)于美國(guó)愛(ài)荷華州立大學(xué)機(jī)械工程系,2017年11月通過(guò)深圳市海外高層次人才計(jì)劃引入深圳大學(xué)。長(zhǎng)期從事微觀(guān)尺度的熱傳遞、熱物性測(cè)量技術(shù)的基礎(chǔ)研究。以碳基材料、高分子材料、二維材料為對(duì)象,結(jié)合電熱技術(shù)、拉曼光熱技術(shù),揭示微觀(guān)尺度熱輸運(yùn)及機(jī)制,為研發(fā)高效的熱管理、溫度和紅外傳感提供新技術(shù)和新策略。目前累計(jì)發(fā)表SCI論文40余篇,以通訊/第一作者發(fā)表論文于A(yíng)CS Nano、Nano Energy、Int. Yangsu Xie, Ph.D., a tenured associate professor and a distinguished researcher, Ph.D. supervisor. Graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Iowa State University, USA, and was introduced to Shenzhen University through the Shenzhen Overseas High-level Talent Program in November 2017. She has been engaged in fundamental research on microscale heat transfer and thermal property measurement techniques. She takes carbon-based materials, polymer materials, and two-dimensional materials as objects, combines electro-thermal technology and Raman technology, and reveals the microscale heat transport and mechanism, providing new technologies and strategies for developing efficient thermal management, temperature and infrared sensing. She has published more than 40 SCI papers so far, with papers published as a correspondent/first author on high-level academic journals such as ACS Nano, Nano Energy, and International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing. She has undertaken several national natural science foundation projects, Guangdong natural science foundation projects, and Shenzhen projects in recent years. Her current research directions include: (1) advanced thermal property testing technology (mainly transient electro-thermal technology and Raman temperature measurement technology) and microscale heat transfer mechanism research; (2) optimizing the uncooled infrared sensing performance of thermally insulating carbon nanomaterials through structural design; (3) microstructure regulation and heat transport research of thermal management materials.

Feng Yujie is a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, leader of the Innovation Team in Key Fields of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a member of the National High-Level Talents Program. She also holds concurrent positions including Fellow of the International Water Association (IWA), Council Member of the International Society for Microbial Electrochemistry and Technology (ISMET), Secretary-General of the Disciplinary Appraisal Group for Environmental Science and Engineering under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and Standing Director of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences.

Her main research focuses on key scientific and technological issues in the fields of low-carbon water treatment theory and equipment, near-natural ecological restoration, sponge city construction and black-odor water remediation, safe disposal and resource utilization of multi-component organic matter, as well as AI and environmental big data. She has won 1 national award, 4 provincial/ministerial first-class awards, and 7 provincial/ministerial second-class awards. She has published 530 academic papers, obtained 67 authorized invention patents, and has an H-index of 70. Additionally, she has published 3 monographs, edited or co-edited 7 new books, 1 translated work, and participated in the compilation of 2 English monographs (serving as the lead author for one chapter in each). She has received honorary titles such as "Top Ten Outstanding Youths of Heilongjiang Province", "Women's Medal of Heilongjiang Province" and "May 1st Labor Medal of Heilongjiang Province". Dr. Han Jing-Cheng, Distinguished Research Fellow, Deputy Director of the Water Science and Environmental Engineering Research Center, Shenzhen University. He mainly engages in research on environmental hydraulics, with research interests including hydrosphere science, environmental systems engineering, and geochemical cycles. His work at the water science and environmental engineering research center @Shenzhen University mainly aims to understand how changing environmental conditions and anthropogenic activities affect the water systems’ health through hydrologic process and to provide better solutions for sustainable water resources utilization and regulation. He has presided over more than ten research projects, and has published over 70 academic papers. Currently, he serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Hydrology, Young Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Basic Science and Engineering, and Young Member of the Urban Water Resources Branch of the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society.

Professor Yantao Chen is affiliated with the School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Shenzhen University. He has long focused on the field of biomaterials, integrating interdisciplinary technologies such as machine learning, molecular simulation, and chemical synthesis to explore the mechanisms of their structure and function. His main research directions include: 1. Structure-activity relationship research and intelligent design of protein conjugates, developing new-type protein drugs with balanced half-life and biological activity; 2. Cheminformatics research on the environmental behavior of organic pollutants, providing theoretical support for pollution prevention and control; 3. Research and development of integrated dual-enzyme nanogel detection kits, facilitating non-invasive rapid detection. He has published more than 40 papers in top-tier international academic journals, presided over a number of projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has been awarded the honor of "Shenzhen Overseas High-Level Professional Talent".
